Long Beach City College is seeking a motivated and dedicated Student Success Coach - Lead Intern to join our team. This role will allow you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students while gaining valuable leadership experience. As the Student Success Coach - Lead Intern, you will work closely with a team of professionals to provide individualized support and guidance to students, helping them navigate their academic journey and achieve their goals.   1. Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
  2. Work closely with a team of professionals to develop and implement strategies for student success.
  3. Serve as a role model and mentor to other student success coaches, leading by example and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  4. Conduct regular check-ins with assigned students to assess their progress and offer assistance and resources as needed.
  5. Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address academic and personal challenges that may be hindering student success.
  6. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the college's academic programs, policies, and resources to better assist students.
  7. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff, providing timely and accurate information.
  8. Demonstrate a genuine desire to help students overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
  9. Create and implement workshops, seminars, and other educational programs to promote student success.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress, adhering to all privacy laws and regulations.
  11. Stay current on best practices and trends in student success coaching, incorporating new techniques and strategies into the role.
  12. Attend trainings, meetings, and other professional development opportunities as required by the college.
  13. Participate in outreach efforts to identify and recruit students who may benefit from the services of a student success coach.
  14. Collaborate with campus departments and community organizations to provide additional support and resources for students.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the student success coaching program, making recommendations for enhancements and changes as needed.

  • Strong Communication Skills: A Student Success Coach - Lead Intern Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Students, Faculty, And Staff Members.

  • Knowledge Of Student Success Strategies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Student Success Strategies, Including Time Management, Study Skills, And Academic Planning, To Support And Guide Students Towards Achieving Their Academic Goals.

  • Experience In Mentoring Or Coaching: Previous Experience In Mentoring Or Coaching Students Is Essential For This Role. The Lead Intern Should Be Able To Provide Guidance, Support, And Motivation To Students To Help Them Overcome Challenges And Achieve Success.

  • Familiarity With Campus Resources: A Successful Student Success Coach - Lead Intern Should Have A Good Understanding Of The Resources Available On Campus, Such As Tutoring Services, Academic Advising, And Career Services. This Knowledge Will Enable Them To Refer Students To The Appropriate Resources As Needed.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively: As A Lead Intern, This Individual Will Be Working Closely With Other Coaches, Faculty, And Staff Members. Therefore, Strong Teamwork And Collaboration Skills Are Crucial For This Role To Ensure The Success Of The Student Support Program.
