- Develop and teach courses in fashion and related technologies, including but not limited to fashion design, merchandising, textiles, and fashion technology.
- Create engaging and innovative lesson plans to ensure students are well-equipped with industry-relevant knowledge and skills.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in the fashion industry and incorporate them into the curriculum.
- Provide feedback and constructive criticism to students to help them improve and grow in their chosen field.
- Mentor and guide students in developing their own unique styles and creative visions.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary projects and assignments.
- Advise and assist students in preparing for internships, job interviews, and career opportunities in the fashion industry.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and events to contribute to the overall success of the fashion program.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism and a strong work ethic.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, and provide timely feedback to students and administration.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on industry developments and trends.
- Participate in recruitment and outreach activities to promote the fashion program and attract potential students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Adhere to all college policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and ethical practices.
- Collaborate with local fashion organizations and businesses to facilitate networking and internship opportunities for students.
Extensive Industry Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In The Fashion And Related Technologies Industry, With A Strong Understanding Of Current Trends, Techniques, And Technology.
Teaching Experience: A Proven Track Record Of Teaching At The College Level, Preferably In The Field Of Fashion And Related Technologies, Is Essential. The Candidate Should Have Experience Developing Curriculum, Lesson Plans, And Assessments That Align With Industry Standards.
Knowledge Of Emerging Technologies: The Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Emerging Technologies In The Fashion Industry, Such As 3D Printing, Cad Software, And Sustainable Practices. They Should Also Be Able To Incorporate These Technologies Into The Curriculum To Prepare Students For The Current Job Market.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary For A Faculty Member To Effectively Teach And Mentor Students. The Candidate Should Be Able To Engage Students From Diverse Backgrounds And Facilitate A Collaborative Learning Environment.
Educational Qualifications: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Fashion Design, Merchandising, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. A Ph.d. In A Relevant Field Is Preferred. The Candidate Should Also Have A Solid Academic Background With A Strong Gpa And Relevant Coursework In Fashion And Related Technologies.
