Job Description

Long Beach City College is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as a Faculty for Digital Media.   1. Develop and teach courses on various topics in digital media, including but not limited to graphic design, web design, social media, and digital marketing.
  2. Create and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  3. Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in the digital media industry and incorporate them into the curriculum.
  4. Provide mentorship and guidance to students, both inside and outside of the classroom, to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
  5. Evaluate and assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  6. Collaborate with other faculty members and industry professionals to continuously improve the digital media program and ensure its relevance to the job market.
  7. Participate in department meetings, professional development opportunities, and other activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  8. Serve as an academic advisor to students and assist them in creating educational plans that align with their interests and career goals.
  9. Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts to attract and retain a diverse student population.
  10. Meet all deadlines for submitting grades, reports, and other required documentation.
  11. Adhere to the policies and guidelines of the college and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  12. Conduct research and publish scholarly work in the field of digital media to contribute to the academic community.
  13. Serve on committees and participate in other campus initiatives to support the mission and goals of the college.
  14. Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times and uphold academic integrity in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Digital Media Or A Related Field, Such As Graphic Design, Multimedia, Or Film Production.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Teaching Digital Media Courses At The Post-Secondary Level.

  • Demonstrated Proficiency In Various Digital Media Software And Tools, Such As Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Or Maya.

  • Strong Portfolio Showcasing Expertise And Innovation In Digital Media Production, Including But Not Limited To Web Design, Video Editing, And Animation.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Teach And Mentor Students From Diverse Backgrounds.
