- Act as a subject matter expert on safety critical systems software architecture within the company and participate in industry conferences and events.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Safety Critical Systems: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Safety Critical Systems, Including Their Design, Development, Testing, And Maintenance. They Should Possess A Comprehensive Understanding Of Industry Regulations And Standards Such As Do-178C, Do-254, And Do-278.
Extensive Experience In Software Architecture: The Safety Critical Systems Software Architect Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Software Architecture, Preferably In The Aerospace Or Defense Industry. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Designing And Implementing Complex Software Systems With A Focus On Safety, Reliability, And Maintainability.
Familiarity With System Safety Analysis: The Candidate Should Have Experience With Performing System-Level Safety Analyses Such As Fault Tree Analysis (Fta) And Failure Modes And Effects Analysis (Fmea). They Should Have The Ability To Identify Potential Hazards And Design Software Systems To Mitigate These Risks.
Strong Programming Skills: The Safety Critical Systems Software Architect Should Have Expertise In Programming Languages Such As C, C++, And Ada. They Should Be Able To Write Code That Is Efficient, Reliable, And Maintainable. Experience With Real-Time Operating Systems And Embedded Software Development Is Also Desirable.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: As The Leader Of The Software Development Team, The Safety Critical Systems Software Architect Should Have Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills. They Should Be Able To Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams, Communicate Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders, And Provide Guidance And Mentorship To Junior Team Members.
