- Receive and process material requests from production lines in a timely manner.
- Review and verify accuracy of material orders and deliveries.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, packaged, and stored according to company standards.
- Utilize material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to safely move and transport materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track materials using computer systems.
- Collaborate with production and procurement teams to ensure materials are available and delivered on schedule.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and report any issues to the appropriate department.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist with training new Material Distribution Handlers as needed.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels and report any shortages to management.
- Communicate any delays or issues with material deliveries to the production team.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to quality control and material handling.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Lockheed Martin, promoting the company's values and mission.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and increase efficiency in material distribution.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Reading, Writing, And Mathematical Skills Necessary For The Job.
Prior Experience In Material Handling: Previous Experience In A Material Handling Or Distribution Role Is Preferred. This Would Include Experience With Inventory Management, Packaging, Shipping And Receiving, And Operating Forklifts And Other Material Handling Equipment.
Attention To Detail: Material Distribution Handlers Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Strong Organizational Skills. This Job Requires Accurately Tracking And Documenting Inventory, Ensuring Packages Are Labeled Correctly, And Verifying The Accuracy Of Orders.
Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects: Material Distribution Handlers Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects (Up To 50 Lbs). This Job May Involve Standing, Bending, And Reaching For Extended Periods Of Time.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role. Material Distribution Handlers Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Professionally With Team Members, Suppliers, And Customers To Ensure Timely And Accurate Delivery Of Materials.
