Job Description

Welcome to LifeBridge Health, where we are committed to creating safe and thriving communities. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Violence Interrupter for our Safe Streets program. This vital role will involve working directly with at-risk individuals and communities to prevent and de-escalate violence. As a Violence Interrupter, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering positive relationships and promoting peace in our neighborhoods. We are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as a deep understanding of the dynamics of violence in urban areas.   1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with at-risk individuals and communities in order to prevent and de-escalate violence.
  2. Act as a mediator and communicator between conflicting parties to resolve conflicts peacefully.
  3. Conduct outreach and engage with community members to build trust and promote the Safe Streets program.
  4. Collaborate with local organizations, law enforcement, and community leaders to coordinate efforts in reducing violence.
  5. Identify and address potential triggers of violence in the community and develop strategies to prevent them.
  6. Provide support and resources to individuals affected by violence, including connecting them with appropriate services.
  7. Document and report all interactions and progress made with individuals and communities.
  8. Continuously educate yourself on the dynamics of violence in urban areas and stay updated on best practices for violence prevention and intervention.
  9. Attend regular team meetings and participate in training and professional development opportunities.
  10. Promote a culture of peace and non-violence within the community.
  11. Serve as a role model and mentor for at-risk individuals, inspiring them to make positive changes in their lives.
  12. Collaborate with other members of the Safe Streets team to develop and implement strategies for reducing violence in the community.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional standards in carrying out job responsibilities.
  14. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the Safe Streets program and make recommendations for improvement.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of LifeBridge Health and the Safe Streets program.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Criminal Justice, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Community Outreach And Violence Prevention Initiatives.

  • Knowledge Of And Experience Working With At-Risk Youth And Gang-Involved Individuals.

  • Strong Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills.

  • Understanding Of Trauma-Informed Care And Ability To Work With Individuals Who Have Experienced Violence Or Trauma.
