
VIOLENCE INTERRUPTER SAFE STREETS

This vital role will involve working directly with at-risk individuals and communities to prevent and de-escalate violence. As a Violence Interrupter, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering positive relationships and promoting peace in our neighborhoods. We are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as a deep understanding of the dynamics of violence in urban areas. - Develop and maintain positive relationships with at-risk individuals and communities in order to prevent and de-escalate violence.
- Act as a mediator and communicator between conflicting parties to resolve conflicts peacefully.
- Conduct outreach and engage with community members to build trust and promote the Safe Streets program.
- Collaborate with local organizations, law enforcement, and community leaders to coordinate efforts in reducing violence.
- Identify and address potential triggers of violence in the community and develop strategies to prevent them.
- Provide support and resources to individuals affected by violence, including connecting them with appropriate services.
- Document and report all interactions and progress made with individuals and communities.
- Continuously educate yourself on the dynamics of violence in urban areas and stay updated on best practices for violence prevention and intervention.
- Attend regular team meetings and participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Promote a culture of peace and non-violence within the community.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for at-risk individuals, inspiring them to make positive changes in their lives.
- Collaborate with other members of the Safe Streets team to develop and implement strategies for reducing violence in the community.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional standards in carrying out job responsibilities.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the Safe Streets program and make recommendations for improvement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of LifeBridge Health and the Safe Streets program.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Criminal Justice, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Community Outreach And Violence Prevention Initiatives.
Knowledge Of And Experience Working With At-Risk Youth And Gang-Involved Individuals.
Strong Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills.
Understanding Of Trauma-Informed Care And Ability To Work With Individuals Who Have Experienced Violence Or Trauma.
