- Conduct utilization reviews of patient medical records to ensure appropriate use of healthcare resources and services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to determine the most effective and efficient treatment plans.
- Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate medical information and make recommendations for appropriate levels of care.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and any potential changes in care.
- Stay up-to-date on healthcare policies and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Document all review activities and maintain accurate records of patient information.
- Monitor and track patient progress and outcomes to ensure quality of care.
- Identify areas for improvement in utilization and make recommendations for process enhancements.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies for improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
- Provide education and training to healthcare providers and staff on utilization review processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and healthcare providers.
- Serve as a resource for patients and their families, providing support and guidance throughout the utilization review process.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.
- Continuously evaluate and improve utilization review processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Represent the organization in a professional manner and promote a positive image of LifeBridge Health.
Active Nursing License: A Valid And Current Nursing License From The State Of Maryland Is Required For This Position.
Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse Is Preferred, With A Strong Background In Acute Care Or Case Management.
Utilization Review Certification: Certification In Utilization Review (Ur) Or Case Management (Cm) Is Strongly Preferred.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations: A Thorough Understanding Of Medicare, Medicaid, And Commercial Insurance Regulations And Guidelines Related To Utilization Review And Reimbursement Is Required.
Strong Communication And Analytical Skills: Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Analyze Data And Make Evidence-Based Decisions, Are Essential For This Role.
