- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during operations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical environment, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with proper positioning of patients.
- Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout procedures.
- Handle and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members.
- Assist with patient positioning and transportation before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure accurate counting of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with surgical techniques and technology.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
- Continuously monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the surgical team.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: Candidates Should Have Completed An Accredited Program That Includes Both Classroom Instruction And Hands-On Clinical Experience.
Certification As A Surgical Technologist: Possession Of A Valid Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) Is Required.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Surgical Procedures And Be Familiar With The Equipment And Instruments Used In The Operating Room.
Attention To Detail And Manual Dexterity: Surgical Technologists Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Be Able To Handle Delicate Instruments With Precision.
