- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and timely scheduling of procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all scheduled procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and any necessary pre-procedure preparations.
- Collaborate with various departments within the healthcare facility to ensure proper coordination and preparation for scheduled procedures.
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, providing clear and timely communication regarding scheduling, changes, and any necessary instructions.
- Monitor and manage scheduling conflicts or issues, proactively finding solutions to ensure efficient and effective scheduling.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance requirements and pre-authorization processes, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained prior to scheduled procedures.
- Utilize electronic scheduling systems and other software to accurately document and track all procedures and related information.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding their scheduled procedures.
- Stay updated on all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to surgical scheduling, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes to increase efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Work closely with the SPP team to ensure seamless coordination and communication between scheduling and pre-procedure planning.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and trainings as required.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: A Surgical Scheduler At Lifebridge Health Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Surgical Procedures And The Scheduling Requirements For Each One. This Knowledge Is Crucial For Accurately Scheduling Surgeries And Ensuring The Appropriate Resources Are Available For Each Procedure.
Organizational Skills: The Ability To Stay Organized And Manage Multiple Schedules Is Essential For A Surgical Scheduler. This Includes Coordinating With Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, And Other Medical Staff, As Well As Keeping Track Of Patient Appointments And Any Necessary Pre-Operative Testing.
