- Administer renal dialysis treatment to patients according to established protocols and standards.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust treatment parameters as needed.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of dialysis equipment and supplies.
- Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, potential complications, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate assistance as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current practices and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the dialysis process.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and follow-up care.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the medical center and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve patient care and outcomes by actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Relevant Education And Training: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, As Well As Completion Of An Accredited Renal Dialysis Technician Training Program.
Certification: A Valid Certification As A Renal Dialysis Technician From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Board Of Nephrology Examiners Nursing And Technology (Bonent), Is Required.
Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Dialysis Setting Is Preferred. Candidates Should Be Familiar With The Equipment, Procedures, And Protocols Used In Renal Dialysis Treatment.
Attention To Detail: Renal Dialysis Technicians Must Have Exceptional Attention To Detail To Accurately Monitor Patients' Vital Signs, Record Treatment Information, And Identify Any Potential Complications.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role, As Renal Dialysis Technicians Work Closely With Patients, Medical Staff, And Family Members To Provide Quality Care.
