Welcome to Grace Medical Center at LifeBridge Health! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to use your personal experience with addiction and recovery to help others on their journey to wellness. This role requires a strong understanding of substance abuse and mental health, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.   1. Provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to patients struggling with addiction.
  2. Utilize personal experience with addiction and recovery to connect with patients and provide relatable support.
  3. Act as a role model for patients by demonstrating successful recovery and healthy coping mechanisms.
  4. Assist patients in identifying and setting achievable goals for their recovery journey.
  5. Educate patients and their families about substance abuse and mental health, including available resources and treatment options.
  6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards when working with patients.
  8. Conduct regular check-ins with patients to monitor progress and provide emotional support.
  9. Act as an advocate for patients and their needs, both within the healthcare system and in the community.
  10. Attend trainings and stay updated on current research and best practices related to substance abuse and mental health treatment.
  11. Build strong relationships with community organizations and resources to support patients' ongoing recovery.
  12. Document patient interactions and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
  13. Participate in team meetings and provide input on patient care and treatment plans.
  14. Support the overall mission and values of Grace Medical Center and LifeBridge Health.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional and personal growth to enhance the quality of care provided to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification Or Licensure: The Candidate Should Hold A Certification Or License As A Peer Recovery Specialist, Such As A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Cprs) Or Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (Carc).

  • Experience In Peer Support: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Peer Support Or Recovery Coaching Is Required For This Position. This Can Include Working With Individuals In Recovery From Substance Abuse, Mental Health Conditions, Or Other Behavioral Health Challenges.

  • Knowledge Of Recovery Principles: The Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Recovery Principles, Including The Stages Of Change, Harm Reduction, And Trauma-Informed Care. They Should Also Have Experience Applying These Principles In A Peer Support Setting.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Peer Recovery Specialist, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Empathy And Non-Judgmental Attitude: The Candidate Should Have A Non-Judgmental Attitude And Demonstrated Ability To Empathize With Individuals In Recovery. This Is Crucial For Building Trust And Rapport With Patients And Supporting Them In Their Recovery Journey.
