Job Description

If so, LifeBridge Health is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will provide support, guidance, and resources to individuals seeking to overcome substance abuse and mental health issues.   1. Provide support and guidance to individuals seeking recovery from substance abuse and mental health challenges.
  2. Utilize personal experience and expertise in overcoming addiction and mental health issues to connect and relate with clients.
  3. Conduct individual and group sessions to help clients develop coping skills, build self-esteem, and manage triggers.
  4. Create and implement personalized recovery plans for each client, taking into account their unique challenges and needs.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community organizations to ensure clients have access to necessary resources and support.
  6. Serve as a role model and advocate for clients, promoting the importance of self-care and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  7. Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and document any significant changes or concerns.
  8. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
  9. Attend regular training and continuing education to stay updated on best practices and techniques in the field of addiction and mental health recovery.
  10. Foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment for clients to encourage their personal growth and development.
  11. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to recovery.
  12. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and understanding towards clients, recognizing the challenges and struggles they may face on their journey.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the field of addiction and mental health recovery.
  14. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and collaborate on treatment plans.
  15. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Peer Recovery Specialist At Lifebridge Health Must Hold A Current Certification As A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Cprs) From A Recognized Program And/Or Organization.

  • Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Personal Experience With Recovery From Mental Health And/Or Substance Abuse Disorders. Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Or Social Service Setting Is Also Preferred.

  • Knowledge: A Strong Understanding Of The Principles Of Recovery And The Recovery Process Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Possess Knowledge Of Community Resources, Support Groups, And Evidence-Based Practices For Treating Mental Health And Substance Abuse Disorders.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Crucial For A Peer Recovery Specialist. This Includes The Ability To Actively Listen, Provide Support And Encouragement, And Establish Rapport With Clients And Their Families.

  • Empathy And Compassion: The Ability To Demonstrate Empathy And Compassion Towards Individuals Struggling With Mental Health And Substance Use Disorders Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Must Be Able To Provide Non-Judgmental Support And Be Sensitive To The Needs Of Others.
