  1. Provide direct patient care: The primary responsibility of a Patient Care Tech is to provide hands-on care to patients, including assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and administering medication under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  2. Ensure patient comfort and safety: It is the responsibility of the Patient Care Tech to ensure that patients are comfortable, safe, and well-cared for during their stay. This includes attending to their physical and emotional needs and promptly responding to any concerns or emergencies.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team: The Patient Care Tech will work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physicians, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients. This requires effective communication and teamwork skills.
  4. Maintain accurate records: Patient records must be accurately maintained and updated by the Patient Care Tech. This includes documenting observations, treatments, and any changes in the patient's condition.
  5. Monitor and report changes in patient condition: It is the responsibility of the Patient Care Tech to monitor patients for any changes in their condition and report them to the appropriate healthcare professionals. This includes recognizing and responding to signs of distress or deterioration.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols: The Patient Care Tech must follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and themselves. This includes proper hand hygiene, infection control, and safe handling of medical equipment.
  7. Provide emotional support: Patients may be in a vulnerable state during their hospital stay, and the Patient Care Tech should provide emotional support and comfort to help alleviate their anxiety and stress.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized environment: The Patient Care Tech is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment. This includes cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms and equipment, as well as restocking supplies.
  9. Assist with patient transportation: The Patient Care Tech may be responsible for transporting patients to and from procedures, tests, and other areas of the hospital. This requires the safe and proper use of medical equipment, such as wheelch

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Ged: A Patient Care Tech At Lifebridge Health Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged To Be Considered For The Position. This Ensures They Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform Their Duties.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Lifebridge Health Requires All Patient Care Techs To Be Certified Nursing Assistants. This Certification Demonstrates That The Individual Has Completed A State-Approved Training Program And Has Passed A Competency Exam.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Patient Care Techs At Lifebridge Health Must Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association. This Certification Ensures They Have The Necessary Skills To Respond To Emergencies And Provide Basic Life Support.

  • Previous Experience In Healthcare: Lifebridge Health Prefers Candidates With Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Patient Care Techs Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members. This Includes Being Able To Actively Listen, Show Empathy, And Work Well In A Team Environment.
