  1. Monitor Patient Safety: The primary responsibility of a Patient Care Sitter is to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients at all times. This includes monitoring patients for any changes in condition, preventing falls and accidents, and responding quickly and appropriately to any emergencies.
  2. Provide Support and Comfort: Patient Care Sitters are responsible for providing emotional support and comfort to patients during their stay at the hospital. This may include offering reassurance, listening to patient concerns, and providing companionship.
  3. Communicate Effectively: Excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Patient Care Sitters must be able to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. They must also document and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate individuals.
  4. Assist with Daily Tasks: Patient Care Sitters may be responsible for assisting patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. They may also help with feeding, mobility, and other activities as needed.
  5. Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Patient Care Sitters are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients. This may include changing bed linens, keeping patient rooms tidy, and ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized.
  6. Follow Hospital Policies and Procedures: Patient Care Sitters must adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols, patient confidentiality, and safety regulations.
  7. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Patient Care Sitters work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and doctors, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. They must be able to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
  8. Remain Calm Under Pressure: The hospital environment can be fast-paced and high-stress. Patient Care Sitters must be able to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, and effectively manage their emotions in order to provide the best possible care for patients.
