
PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE I-UNION

- Providing direct patient care: The primary responsibility of a Patient Care Associate I is to provide hands-on care and support to patients. This includes assisting with daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, and feeding, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety: The Patient Care Associate I is responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. This includes helping patients with mobility, repositioning them to prevent bedsores, and providing a clean and comfortable environment.
- Collaborating with healthcare team: As a member of the healthcare team, the Patient Care Associate I is expected to communicate effectively and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians. This includes reporting any changes in a patient's condition and assisting with patient procedures as needed.
- Maintaining patient records: The Patient Care Associate I is responsible for accurately documenting patient care activities, including vital signs, medications, and treatments. This information is vital for the continuity of patient care and must be kept up-to-date.
- Providing emotional support: Patients in the hospital may be feeling scared, anxious, or lonely. The Patient Care Associate I is responsible for providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during their stay.
- Adhering to safety and infection control protocols: It is the responsibility of the Patient Care Associate I to follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors. This includes proper hand hygiene, wearing personal protective equipment, and following isolation precautions when necessary.
- Participating in ongoing training and education: To provide the best care to patients, the Patient Care Associate I must stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare practices and procedures. This may include attending trainings, workshops, and completing continuing education courses.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Associate I-Union At Lifebridge Health Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Current Cna Certification From An Accredited Institution.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Candidate Must Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association.
Previous Healthcare Experience: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably As A Patient Care Associate Or Nursing Assistant, Is Preferred.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Patient Care Associate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
