- Assist ophthalmologists and other medical professionals in providing exceptional patient care.
- Conduct preliminary eye exams, including measuring vision, eye pressure, and other diagnostic tests.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist during examinations and treatments.
- Record and maintain accurate patient information and medical records.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-procedure instructions.
- Maintain and organize ophthalmology equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high quality and efficient patient care.
- Follow safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other medical professionals.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For The Ophthalmology Technician I Position At Lifebridge Health.
Certification Or Training In Ophthalmic Technology: Candidates Should Have Completed A Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Training Program, Or Have An Equivalent Certification In Ophthalmic Technology.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures, Including Experience With Slit Lamps, Tonometers, And Visual Field Testing.
Experience In Patient Care: Previous Experience In Patient Care, Preferably In An Ophthalmic Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. Candidates Should Be Comfortable Interacting With Patients And Assisting With Various Tasks Related To Eye Care.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills: As An Ophthalmology Technician I, Strong Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Healthcare Professionals, And Have The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment.
