- Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
- Perform various diagnostic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, and pupil dilation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Prepare patients for examinations and surgeries.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans.

Certification As An Ophthalmic Technician: Candidates Should Possess A Certification From A Recognized Institution, Such As The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo) Or The American Academy Of Ophthalmology. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Theoretical And Practical Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Procedures And Protocols.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience: Lifebridge Health Is Seeking Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience As An Ophthalmology Technician In A Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include Performing Diagnostic Tests, Assisting With Procedures, And Providing Patient Education.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Good Understanding Of Ophthalmic Equipment, Including But Not Limited To, Slit Lamps, Tonometers, And Visual Field Testing Machines. They Should Also Be Familiar With Various Ophthalmic Procedures Such As Visual Acuity Testing, Fundus Photography, And Fluorescein Angiography.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Ophthalmology Technician At Lifebridge Health, The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.
