1. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff of the Jewish community within our healthcare system.
2. Conduct religious services, rituals, and ceremonies in accordance with Jewish traditions and customs.
3. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive holistic care that addresses their spiritual needs.
4. Build and maintain relationships with patients and their families to offer ongoing spiritual support and guidance.
5. Offer counseling and spiritual guidance to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, adapting approach and understanding to meet their specific needs.
6. Advocate for the spiritual needs of the Jewish community within the healthcare system.
7. Provide education and resources to staff members to promote cultural competency and understanding of Jewish beliefs and practices.
8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions.
9. Stay up-to-date on Jewish traditions and beliefs to provide accurate and relevant support to patients and families.
10. Serve as a liaison between the healthcare system and local Jewish organizations and clergy.
11. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care plans and provide spiritual perspective and support.
12. Maintain appropriate documentation of interactions and services provided.
13. Collaborate with other chaplains and spiritual care providers to offer support and coverage as needed.
14. Continuously reflect on and evaluate personal biases and beliefs to ensure culturally sensitive and inclusive care.
15. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in spiritual care.
