- Oversee the operations and functions of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards in medical research.
- Review and approve research protocols and informed consent documents to ensure they meet ethical and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate IRB meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting discussions and decisions, and ensuring timely review and approval of protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to researchers and study teams on IRB submission requirements and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IRB activities, including protocol submissions, reviews, and approvals.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and auditing of research studies to ensure compliance with approved protocols and IRB policies.
- Serve as a resource for IRB members, researchers, and study personnel on ethical, legal, and regulatory issues related to human subjects research.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and best practices in human subjects research and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, compliance, and research administration, to ensure consistent and effective implementation of IRB policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for researchers and IRB members on ethical and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Or Bioethics.
Experience Working With Institutional Review Boards (Irbs) And Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Guidelines Related To Human Subjects Research.
Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Projects And Deadlines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Researchers, Ethicists, And Community Members.
Familiarity With Electronic Irb Submission Systems And Proficiency In Microsoft Office Software.
