- Prepare and analyze tissue samples for diagnostic purposes according to established protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality of results.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all specimens and tests performed.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
- Implement and adhere to laboratory safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in histotechnology to ensure best practices and quality standards are met.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain accuracy and precision of results.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
- Provide excellent patient care by handling samples with care and compassion.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff members, students, and residents.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents, and communicate any shortages or needs to appropriate personnel.
- Comply with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of job performance.
Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory
Proficient In All Aspects Of Histology Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, And Staining
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Documentation.
