- Conducting histological tests and procedures on tissue samples according to established protocols and procedures.
- Preparing, embedding, and cutting tissue samples for microscopic examination.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring their proper functioning and accuracy.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all tests, procedures, and results.
- Collaborating with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and maintaining quality control measures.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols in the laboratory.
- Keeping up-to-date with new techniques and technologies in the field of histology.
- Assisting with the training and supervision of new histotechnologists.
- Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor with patients and colleagues.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of new protocols and procedures.
- Adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality policies.
- Representing LifeBridge Health in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Medical Laboratory Science.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Histotechnologist In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) From The American Society For Clinical Pathology.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Adhere To Strict Quality Control Standards.
Proficiency In Operating And Troubleshooting A Variety Of Histology Equipment, Including Microtomes, Tissue Processors, And Staining Instruments.
