- Perform histology procedures accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and safety measures.
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting any issues.
- Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Stay current on new and emerging techniques and technologies in the field of histology.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new Histotechnologists.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
- Uphold the mission and values of LifeBridge Health by providing high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Attend training and educational sessions as required to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior in all aspects of job performance.
Bachelor's Degree In Histology Or A Related Field, Such As Biology Or Medical Technology.
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Ht) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Histology Laboratory Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Histology Techniques And Procedures, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Immunohistochemistry.
Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Follow Laboratory Protocols And Safety Guidelines.
