
DIRECTOR - SURGICAL SERVICES (RN)

- Develop and implement strategic plans for the surgical department in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Supervise and manage all aspects of the surgical department, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to surgical services.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by promoting best practices and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments and medical staff to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of patient care.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of surgical staff, ensuring competency and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical technology and techniques and make recommendations for their implementation in the department.
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop and monitor the surgical department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical department and other departments, promoting effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Participate in hospital committees and meetings, representing the surgical department and advocating for its needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records related to surgical services.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff by enforcing infection control and safety protocols.
- Handle patient complaints and concerns, and take appropriate action to address them.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
Current Rn Licensure: The Ideal Candidate For A Director Of Surgical Services At Lifebridge Health Should Possess A Valid Rn License In The State In Which They Will Be Working.
Advanced Degree Or Equivalent Experience: A Director Of Surgical Services Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field. An Advanced Degree, Such As A Master's In Nursing Administration Or Healthcare Administration, Is Preferred.
Leadership Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In A Surgical Services Department, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Clinical Expertise: A Director Of Surgical Services Should Have Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Surgical Procedures, Perioperative Care, And Surgical Equipment And Technology.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Lead A Team Of Surgical Professionals, Collaborate With Other Departments, And Interact With Patients And Their Families. The Ability To Build Strong Relationships And Resolve Conflicts Is Also Essential.
