Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant, OB Scrub Tech, to join our Labor and Delivery Unit.   1. Assist in the delivery of new life by preparing and maintaining a clean and sterile environment for labor and delivery procedures.
  2. Provide compassionate care to patients and their families by supporting them emotionally and physically during the labor and delivery process.
  3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the safety and well-being of the mother and baby.
  4. Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  5. Assist in the delivery of the baby by preparing delivery trays, instruments, and equipment.
  6. Provide support to the healthcare team during C-sections and other surgical procedures.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills related to labor and delivery care.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  12. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their families.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Assist with post-delivery care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with breastfeeding, and providing postpartum instructions.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates For This Role Should Possess A Valid And Current Cna Certification From An Accredited Program. This Certification Demonstrates A Level Of Knowledge And Competency In Basic Nursing Skills And Patient Care.

  • Obstetrics (Ob) And Labor & Delivery (L&D) Experience: Previous Experience Working In An Ob/L&D Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Position. Familiarity With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Caring For Pregnant Women And Newborns Is Essential.

  • Surgical Scrub Experience: As An Ob Scrub Tech, Candidates Should Have Experience With Surgical Scrub Techniques And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques, Proper Handling Of Instruments, And Maintaining A Sterile Field.

  • Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Current Certification From The American Heart Association Or Another Accredited Provider.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Cna-Ob Scrub Tech Will Work Closely With A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Nurses, Doctors, And Other Support Staff. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Providing High-Quality Patient Care In A Fast-Paced Environment.
