- Assist in the delivery of new life by preparing and maintaining a clean and sterile environment for labor and delivery procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to patients and their families by supporting them emotionally and physically during the labor and delivery process.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the safety and well-being of the mother and baby.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Assist in the delivery of the baby by preparing delivery trays, instruments, and equipment.
- Provide support to the healthcare team during C-sections and other surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills related to labor and delivery care.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist with post-delivery care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with breastfeeding, and providing postpartum instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates For This Role Should Possess A Valid And Current Cna Certification From An Accredited Program. This Certification Demonstrates A Level Of Knowledge And Competency In Basic Nursing Skills And Patient Care.
Obstetrics (Ob) And Labor & Delivery (L&D) Experience: Previous Experience Working In An Ob/L&D Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Position. Familiarity With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Caring For Pregnant Women And Newborns Is Essential.
Surgical Scrub Experience: As An Ob Scrub Tech, Candidates Should Have Experience With Surgical Scrub Techniques And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques, Proper Handling Of Instruments, And Maintaining A Sterile Field.
Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Current Certification From The American Heart Association Or Another Accredited Provider.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Cna-Ob Scrub Tech Will Work Closely With A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Nurses, Doctors, And Other Support Staff. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Providing High-Quality Patient Care In A Fast-Paced Environment.
