- Conduct pre-operative assessments of patients to determine the appropriate anesthesia plan for their cardiac procedure.
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed during the procedure.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, communicating any changes in patient status or anesthesia needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' anesthesia plans, medications, and vital signs.
- Educate patients and their families about anesthesia and post-operative care, providing them with necessary information and answering any questions or concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in cardiac anesthesia to provide the best possible care to patients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
- Provide support and guidance to residents and medical students in training within the cardiac department.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a compassionate and caring environment for patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, including providing updates on patient status and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance patient care within the cardiac department.
Board Certification In Anesthesiology: Candidates For A Cardiac Anesthesiologist Position At Lifebridge Health Should Be Board-Certified In Anesthesiology By The American Board Of Anesthesiology (Aba). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Knowledge In The Field Of Anesthesiology.
Fellowship Training In Cardiac Anesthesia: A Strong Candidate For This Position Should Have Completed A Fellowship Program In Cardiac Anesthesia. This Specialized Training Provides In-Depth Knowledge And Experience In Managing Anesthesia For Complex Cardiac Procedures.
Experience In A High-Volume Cardiac Surgery Center: Lifebridge Health Is A Leading Healthcare Provider In The Baltimore Region And Performs A High Volume Of Cardiac Surgeries. Candidates Should Have Experience Working In A Similar Setting To Demonstrate Their Ability To Manage A High Caseload And Handle Complex Cases.
Knowledge Of Advanced Cardiac Monitoring And Technology: Cardiac Anesthesiologists At Lifebridge Health Are Expected To Be Proficient In Using Advanced Monitoring And Technology During Procedures. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Physiology And Be Able To Interpret Complex Monitoring Data.
