Registered Dietitian

Maintains adherence to policies/procedures and to the ADA code of ethics. Evaluates the nutritional needs of patients receiving parenteral or enteral nutrition. Interview s patients to obtain information regarding their nutritional history, as w ell as food habits and preferences for guidance in planning their diet. Calculates diets for diabetic patients and other therapeutic diets. Provides dietary counseling for patients w ho are on modified diets, if applicable. Documents appropriately in the medical record after each patient contact. Serves as nutritional resource person for medical, nursing, and ancillary personnel, and provides inservices or lectures as directed. Maintains an updated on-line diet manual and dietary educational materials. Collaborates w ith patient and family in goal achievement. Documents STG's met w eekly and sets new goals as indicated. Collaborates w ith the team to formulate interdisciplinary goals.
