  1. Assist with surgical procedures for women of all ages, ranging from routine to complex cases.
  2. Ensure all necessary surgical instruments and equipment are prepared and ready for use.
  3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and adhere to infection control protocols.
  4. Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and provide necessary instruments and supplies during surgery.
  5. Prepare and position patients for surgical procedures.
  6. Monitor and document patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration.
  7. Handle and dispose of surgical specimens according to established protocols.
  8. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient records.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  11. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with surgical techniques and procedures.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality and efficient patient care.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized operating room.
  15. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after surgery.
  16. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  17. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  18. Comply with all state and federal regulations related to surgical procedures.
  19. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
  20. Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure efficient and timely completion of procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: A Candidate For This Position Should Have A Degree Or Certification From An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program. This Ensures That They Have Received The Necessary Training And Education To Perform The Duties Of A Surgical Technologist In A Safe And Effective Manner.

  • Knowledge Of Women's Services Procedures And Equipment: A Surgical Technologist In A Women's Services Department Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Specific Procedures And Equipment Used In This Area. This Includes Knowledge Of Gynecological And Obstetrical Surgeries, As Well As The Instruments And Equipment Used In These Procedures.

  • Certification As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst): Legacy Health Prefers Candidates Who Are Certified As A Cst. This Certification Is Obtained By Passing A National Exam And Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Competency In The Field Of Surgical Technology.

  • Experience In A Women's Services Department: Previous Experience Working In A Women's Services Department Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Experience Can Come From A Variety Of Settings, Including Hospitals, Surgical Centers, Or Obstetric/Gynecological Offices.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: A Surgical Technologist In Women's Services Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Work Well In A Team Environment. They Will Be Working Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals, So The Ability To Communicate Effectively And Work Collaboratively Is Essential.
