• Prepare and set up operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in proper working order.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and draping, and assist with pre-operative preparations.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures and provide necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper infection control protocols and procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as directed by the anesthesiologist.
• Assist with positioning and transferring patients during procedures and provide comfort and support as needed.
• Handle and dispose of surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with safety and infection control regulations.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient completion of procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all procedures, including patient records and surgical counts.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in surgical technology and procedures.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to all patients, demonstrating empathy, respect, and confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
