- Prepare and set up operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in proper working order.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and draping, and assist with pre-operative preparations.
- Anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures and provide necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper infection control protocols and procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Assist with positioning and transferring patients during procedures and provide comfort and support as needed.
- Handle and dispose of surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with safety and infection control regulations.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient completion of procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all procedures, including patient records and surgical counts.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in surgical technology and procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to all patients, demonstrating empathy, respect, and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
Certification: A Candidate Must Be A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Through An Accredited Program Or Have Equivalent Certification.
Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Surgical Technologist In A Hospital Or Surgical Center Setting Is Required.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Including Instrumentation, Equipment, And Supplies Used In Various Surgical Specialties.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: As A Surgical Technologist, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Ability To Maintain Sterile Environment: The Candidate Must Have Knowledge Of And Adhere To Strict Sterile Techniques To Maintain A Safe And Clean Operating Room Environment. This Includes Proper Handling Of Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies, As Well As Infection Control Protocols.
