1. Serve as a first assistant in surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons to provide high-quality patient care.
2. Maintain a high level of technical proficiency and knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
3. Prepare operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring they are sterile and ready for use.
4. Assist with patient positioning and draping, as well as the passing of surgical instruments during procedures.
5. Monitor patient vital signs and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
6. Anticipate the needs of the surgeons during procedures and provide support and assistance as needed.
7. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical assistants.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe and clean operating environment.
9. Keep accurate records of procedures, including supplies used and patient information.
10. Continuously update knowledge and skills through education and training opportunities.
