- Oversee the daily operations of the Health Information Management department, ensuring efficient and accurate management of patient records.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Train and supervise a team of health information management staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and productivity.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of patient records, including timely and accurate coding, documentation, and data entry.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of patient records for treatment and billing purposes.
- Stay current on industry developments and best practices in health information management, and make recommendations for process improvements and system upgrades.
- Conduct regular audits to identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies in patient records.
- Serve as a resource for staff and healthcare providers on health information management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Oversee the maintenance and security of electronic health records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
- Represent the Health Information Management department in meetings and discussions with other healthcare professionals to discuss patient record management and quality improvement initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Certified Registered Health Information Administrator (Rhia) Through The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Health Information Management, Preferably In A Supervisory Role.
Strong Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record Systems And Data Management.
