- Provide exceptional care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) following surgery.
- Utilize expertise and knowledge of evidence-based practices to promote positive patient outcomes.
- Monitor and assess patients' post-operative recovery, including vital signs, pain management, and potential complications.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards, to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Serve as a patient advocate, addressing concerns and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff.

Current Rn License In The State Of Oregon: Candidates For The Rn Staff Nurse - Pacu Position At Legacy Health Must Possess A Valid Rn License In The State Of Oregon, Ensuring That They Have Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Practice Nursing In The State.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: Legacy Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Earned A Bsn Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Higher Level Of Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, Equipping Rns With The Knowledge And Skills To Excel In A Fast-Paced Pacu Environment.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Pacu Or Critical Care Experience: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pacu Or Critical Care Setting. This Experience Ensures That The Rn Is Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Responsibilities Of Caring For Patients In The Post-Anesthesia Recovery Period.
Bls And Acls Certifications: As A Healthcare Organization, Legacy Health Requires All Rns To Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls). These Certifications Are Necessary For Providing Emergency Care To Patients In The Pacu.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: The Role Of An Rn Staff Nurse - Pacu Requires Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Think Critically In High-Pressure Situations. Candidates Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Make Quick And Accurate Decisions To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Their Patients.
