- Conduct diagnostic sleep studies: Perform polysomnography tests to analyze and monitor patient's sleep patterns and diagnose sleep disorders.
- Monitor and record data: Use specialized equipment to monitor and record patient's physiological parameters during sleep, such as brain waves, heart rate, and respiration.
- Interpret results: Analyze and interpret data obtained from sleep studies to identify abnormalities and provide accurate diagnosis.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with sleep disorders.
- Educate patients: Explain the sleep study procedure to patients, answer any questions or concerns, and provide instructions for proper preparation.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure proper functioning and calibration of equipment used for sleep studies, and report any malfunctions or need for repair.
- Adhere to safety protocols: Follow established safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety and well-being of patients during sleep studies.
- Maintain accurate records: Document and maintain accurate and detailed records of patient sleep studies and test results.
- Stay current with industry standards: Keep up-to-date with advancements in polysomnography technology and techniques, and apply knowledge to improve patient care.
- Uphold patient confidentiality: Respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times, in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Legacy Health policies.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy: Show empathy and compassion towards patients who may be experiencing sleep disorders, and provide emotional support throughout the testing process.
- Maintain professional standards: Adhere to Legacy Health's code of conduct and ethical standards, and represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy, Or Nursing.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Performing And Scoring Polysomnograms, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (Mslt), And Maintenance Of Wakefulness Tests (Mwt).
Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic Procedures, And Treatment Options.
Proficient In The Use Of Polysomnography Equipment And Software, As Well As Strong Computer Skills For Data Entry And Analysis.
