
Physical Therapy Aide - Acute Care

- Assist physical therapists in providing high-quality care to patients by performing tasks such as setting up equipment, preparing treatment areas, and assisting with exercises and activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team to gather information, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition or progress to the physical therapist.
- Ensure patient safety by following proper body mechanics and assisting with transfers and ambulation as needed.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation process.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments for patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and department processes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth and development to enhance job performance.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to uphold patient confidentiality and safety.

Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In Acute Care, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Demonstrates Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Equipment, And Procedures, And Can Help The Individual Adapt Quickly To The Fast-Paced Environment Of Acute Care.
Cpr Certification: A Valid Cpr Certification Is Usually Required For Physical Therapy Aides In Acute Care At Legacy Health. This Certification Ensures The Individual Is Trained To Respond To Emergency Situations And Can Provide Basic Life Support If Needed.
