- Dispensing Medications: Accurately and efficiently dispense medications to patients according to prescriptions and protocols.
- Maintaining Pharmacy Inventory: Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of medication supplies, while ensuring proper storage and organization of medications.
- Communicating with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication distribution and provide necessary information regarding drug interactions, dosages, and other medication-related inquiries.
- Patient Care: Provide exceptional customer service to patients by assisting them with medication questions and concerns, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Data Entry: Accurately and timely enter patient information and prescription orders into the pharmacy database.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks and audits to ensure the accuracy of medication dispensing and inventory management.
- Adhering to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including disposal of medications and hazardous materials.
- Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians, as well as provide ongoing support and guidance to other team members.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmacy operations, including maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on industry developments, new medications, and changes in regulations through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Pharmacy Technician At Legacy Health Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills Necessary For The Job.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Certification: Legacy Health Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained Their Cpht Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Pharmacy Practice.
Previous Experience In A Pharmacy Setting: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience As A Pharmacy Technician Or In A Related Role Is Preferred At Legacy Health. This Shows The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations And Can Adapt Quickly To The Role.
