
Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient

- Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels of medications and supplies.
- Follow proper procedures for labeling, packaging, and storing medications.
- Prepare sterile products, including chemotherapy medications, in aseptic environments.
- Communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication administration and patient safety.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient information and medication records in the pharmacy system.
- Process insurance claims and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain appropriate records.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for pharmacy operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Perform medication inventory audits and assist with medication reconciliation.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of clutter.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education.
- Identify and report any medication errors or discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Completion Of An Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program Or Equivalent Education And Training.
Current Certification As A Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Through The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Inpatient Or Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Terminology, Drug Products, And Compounding Techniques.
Ability To Accurately Perform Pharmacy Calculations And Maintain Strict Attention To Detail In Medication Dispensing And Record-Keeping.
