
Medical Assistant - Pulmonary Critical Care

- Greet and welcome patients and their families to the Pulmonary Critical Care department with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with any necessary preparations for their appointments.
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and organized for each patient visit.
- Assist physicians and nurses in procedures and treatments, following all safety protocols.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and accurately record and report results.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on their conditions and treatments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Manage patient flow and schedule appointments in a timely manner.
- Assist with medical records management and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Follow all protocols and guidelines set forth by Legacy Health in providing exceptional care to patients.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Provide support to other departments and healthcare professionals as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and growth in the field of pulmonary critical care.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, representing Legacy Health values and standards.
- Act as a role model for other medical assistants by demonstrating excellent clinical and customer service skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the department manager or healthcare team.
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Credential From An Accredited Program
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Pulmonary Or Critical Care Setting
Proficient In Administering Pulmonary Function Tests And Other Diagnostic Procedures
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Records And Ability To Document Patient Information Accurately
Knowledge Of Basic Pharmacology And Ability To Assist With Medication Reconciliation And Administration.
