Job Description

Welcome to Legacy Health! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Pre-Surgery team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our patients as they prepare for surgery, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of empathy and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.   1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, providing a positive and comforting experience for those preparing for surgery.
  2. Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork, collecting medical history and insurance information, and verifying patient demographics.
  3. Prepare patients for surgery by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and ensuring patients are comfortable and well-informed about the process.
  4. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to provide the highest level of care for patients before, during, and after surgery.
  5. Use electronic medical records to accurately document patient information and maintain patient confidentiality.
  6. Administer medications and treatments as directed by medical staff.
  7. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all medical equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and medical staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the pre-surgery department.
  10. Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on current medical procedures and protocols.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or medical staff.

  • Certification As A Medical Assistant: Legacy Health May Require Candidates For A Medical Assistant - Pre-Surgery Position To Hold A Certification As A Medical Assistant.   • Previous Experience In A Medical Setting: Experience Working In A Medical Setting, Particularly In A Surgical Or Pre-Surgical Environment, Is Highly Valued For This Position. It Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment, And Can Adapt Quickly To The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of A Surgical Unit.
