Medical Assistant - Pre-Surgery

- Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner, providing a positive and comforting experience for those preparing for surgery.
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork, collecting medical history and insurance information, and verifying patient demographics.
- Prepare patients for surgery by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and ensuring patients are comfortable and well-informed about the process.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to provide the highest level of care for patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Use electronic medical records to accurately document patient information and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by medical staff.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all medical equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and medical staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the pre-surgery department.
- Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on current medical procedures and protocols.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or medical staff.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Key Qualification For A Medical Assistant - Pre-Surgery Position At Legacy Health Is The Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training And Education In Medical Assisting Techniques And Procedures.
