Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant with a specialization in Midwifery to join our team. As a Medical Assistant in our Midwifery department, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our patients and supporting our team of midwives.   1. Greet and welcome patients and their families with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  2. Assist midwives in providing care to patients, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing exam rooms.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  4. Schedule appointments and follow-up visits for patients.
  5. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  6. Administer medications and vaccines under the direction and supervision of a midwife.
  7. Prepare and assist with medical procedures and examinations.
  8. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized, organized, and stocked.
  9. Collaborate with the midwifery team and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  11. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and new developments in midwifery and women's health.
  13. Uphold the mission and values of Legacy Health in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the midwifery team or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Medical Assisting: A Medical Assistant - Midwifery At Legacy Health Must Have A Current And Valid Certification In Medical Assisting From An Accredited Program.

  • Knowledge Of Midwifery Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Midwifery Practices And Procedures, Including Antepartum, Intrapartum, And Postpartum Care.

  • Experience In Women's Health: Previous Experience In A Women's Health Setting Is Preferred, As The Medical Assistant - Midwifery Will Be Working Closely With Midwives And Other Healthcare Professionals In Delivering Care To Women During Pregnancy And Childbirth.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For This Role, As The Medical Assistant - Midwifery Will Be Interacting With Pregnant Women, Their Families, And Other Medical Staff On A Daily Basis.

  • Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills: The Medical Field Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Organization To Ensure Accurate And Efficient Patient Care. The Ideal Candidate Should Possess These Skills To Effectively Assist Midwives And Maintain Patient Records.
