Job Description

Legacy Health is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Laboratory Manager - Microbiology to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of the Microbiology department and ensuring high quality testing services. In this role, you will also coordinate with other departments to ensure collaborative efforts are made to provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field, as well as at least five years of experience in clinical laboratory operations and management. A history of successfully leading a team and the ability to recognize and act on opportunities for improvement are also key qualities we seek in our Laboratory Manager - Microbiology. Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the Microbiology department, ensuring high quality testing services.
  2. Coordinate with other departments in order to provide exceptional patient care.
  3. Evaluate and implement process improvements in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  4. Develop and maintain budgets and financial plans for the laboratory.
  5. Monitor staff performance, provide training and development, and address any issues that arise.
  6. Establish and maintain positive relationships with laboratory clients.
  7. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  8. Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
