
Health Physicist, Radiation Safety Officer
Legacy Health is seeking a Health Physicist, Radiation Safety Officer to join our team and help ensure the safe use of radiation and radioactive materials. This position requires an individual who is passionate about safety, is detail-oriented, and highly organized. Successful candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in health physics or a related field and at least three years of experience working in radiation safety. You must have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals. Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain safety protocols for the use of radiation and radioactive materials.
- Develop and deliver radiation safety training to staff members, students, and other individuals who may be exposed to radiation.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and regulations pertaining to radiation safety.
- Evaluate equipment and other resources to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Establish and document safety procedures for the safe use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Conduct audits of radiation safety programs to assess their effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze and interpret radiation safety data and make recommendations as needed.
- Respond to incidents involving radiation exposure and provide guidance to affected individuals.
- Keep abreast of changes in radiation safety regulations and standards and update safety protocols accordingly.
- Assist in the preparation of radiation safety reports and other required documentation.
