Job Description

Legacy Health is seeking an experienced Health Information Management Tech to join our Clinics team. This individual will be a key player in helping to ensure that our clinic operations run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with electronic health record systems and working in a healthcare setting. They should have a keen understanding of current health information management practices, regulations and standards, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Health Information Management Tech will need to have a working knowledge of medical terminology and coding, and must be able to maintain patient confidentiality. Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  2. Manage patient records and ensure accuracy of information.
  3. Utilize electronic health record systems to track patient medical information.
  4. Ensure compliance with current health information management practices, regulations, and standards.
  5. Apply appropriate medical coding to patient records.
  6. Perform reviews of patient records to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  7. Communicate with healthcare providers and other clinic staff to provide information related to patient care.
  8. Work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
  10. Monitor accuracy of billing and coding for services provided.
