- Conduct genetic counseling sessions with patients and their families to assess their risk for inherited conditions.
- Create personalized care plans based on genetic testing results and medical history.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.
- Educate patients and their families on genetic concepts, risks, and potential treatments.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and provide comprehensive support to patients.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in genetic research and technologies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain coverage for genetic testing and counseling services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of genetic counseling programs and initiatives.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical standards in the field of genetic counseling.
- Continuously evaluate and improve counseling techniques and strategies to better serve patients.
Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling From An Accredited Program.
Certification From The American Board Of Genetic Counseling (Abgc) Or The American Board Of Medical Genetics (Abmg).
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Genetic Counselor In A Clinical Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Genetic Testing And Counseling Techniques, As Well As Current Research And Advancements In The Field.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Educate And Support Patients And Their Families.
