- Perform routine and complex electroencephalography (EEG) procedures on patients, following standard protocols and techniques.
- Conduct patient interviews and obtain necessary medical histories to ensure accurate and complete EEG recordings.
- Prepare and maintain EEG equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration for accurate results.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during EEG procedures, making necessary adjustments and taking appropriate action in case of emergencies.
- Interpret and analyze EEG recordings, identifying abnormalities and reporting findings to physicians for further evaluation and diagnosis.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological disorders.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of patient information, including EEG recordings, medical history, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families about the purpose and process of EEG procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in EEG technology and procedures, implementing new techniques and equipment as appropriate.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Assist in training and mentoring new EEG technologists and students, sharing knowledge and expertise to promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, providing exceptional customer service to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff development programs, and ongoing education to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Neurophysiology, Neuroscience, Or Healthcare Technology.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As An Eeg Technologist, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Certification By The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).
Strong Knowledge And Proficiency In Administering And Interpreting Eeg Tests, Including Long-Term Monitoring And Evoked Potentials.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Patient Population And Collaborate With Healthcare Team Members.
