
Cytogenetics Technologist
Legacy Health is looking for an experienced, passionate, and driven Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team. As a Cytogenetics Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and techniques to identify genetic abnormalities in our patients. You will be responsible for specimen collection, analysis, and interpretation of results while providing excellent patient care. To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Cytogenetics or a closely related field and be eligible for certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). You must have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting and working knowledge of laboratory information systems. You must also have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze specimens to identify genetic abnormalities.
- Interpret results and provide excellent patient care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technology and techniques in Cytogenetics.
- Ensure accuracy of laboratory information systems.
- Communicate accurately with medical personnel and patients.
- Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
Ability To Maintain Accurate Records
Bachelor's Degree In Biological Science
Medical Technology Or Related Field
Certification As A Medical Technologist (Ascp) Or Equivalent
Eligible For Certification As A Technologist In Cytogenetics (Ascp) Or Equivalent
Knowledge Of Laboratory Instrumentation And Methodology
Ability To Perform Complex Tests And Interpret Results
Ability To Troubleshoot And Problem Solve
