  1. Coordinate appointments and maintain accurate schedules for pediatric patients in the Genetics department.
  2. Assist physicians and genetic counselors in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to pediatric patients.
  3. Maintain medical records and ensure they are up-to-date and organized.
  4. Prepare and assist with procedures, including setting up equipment and providing emotional support to patients.
  5. Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear and accurate information about appointments, procedures, and follow-up care.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for pediatric patients.
  8. Maintain a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and their families, utilizing a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
  9. Utilize strong understanding of genetics and related terminology to assist with patient care and answer questions from patients and their families.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  11. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new developments in the field of pediatric genetics.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Medical Assistant From An Accredited Institution, With A Focus On Pediatric Care.

  • Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Pediatric Genetics Department.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Both Patients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records Systems And Experience With Medical Coding And Billing.

  • Familiarity With Pediatric Genetic Disorders And The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Families Dealing With These Conditions.
