
Child Abuse Specialist

- Conduct thorough assessments of suspected child abuse cases, including medical, social, and psychological evaluations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, child protective services, and other agencies to ensure proper reporting and coordination of services for victims.
- Provide evidence-based treatment to child abuse victims and their families, utilizing trauma-informed approaches.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all cases, including initial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and best practices in the field of child abuse prevention and treatment.
- Develop and implement educational programs and materials for community outreach and awareness on child abuse.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for other healthcare professionals and staff on child abuse issues.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to child abuse reporting and treatment.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for child abuse victims during their treatment and recovery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and case conferences to provide comprehensive care for child abuse victims.
- Provide support and guidance to families and caregivers of child abuse victims, including referrals to community resources as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of child abuse prevention and treatment.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Child Abuse Assessment And Intervention
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws Related To Child Abuse And Neglect
Ability To Effectively Communicate With Children, Families, And Multidisciplinary Teams
Certification In Child Abuse Assessment And Intervention (E.g. Cac Certification) Preferred
