Job Description

  1. Clean and sterilize medical equipment and supplies according to infection control protocols and industry standards.
  2. Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment by following proper cleaning and disinfection procedures.
  3. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.
  4. Inspect and assemble medical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly and free of defects.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and restock necessary supplies to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the central sterile department.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile equipment and supplies for patient care.
  7. Follow all safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to infection control and sterilization.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and advancements in central sterile techniques.
  10. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
  11. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  12. Continuously assess and improve central sterile processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of care.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  14. Act as a resource for other staff members regarding infection control and sterile techniques.
  15. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
