Job Description

As a Service Counter Associate at Kroger, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to our valued shoppers.   1. Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Assist customers with their shopping needs, providing product information and recommendations as needed.
  3. Process transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers and other equipment.
  4. Handle customer complaints and product returns with a positive and proactive attitude.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized service counter area, including restocking merchandise and cleaning equipment.
  6. Follow all company policies and procedures regarding customer service, safety, and cash handling.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  8. Continuously strive to meet and exceed customer expectations by providing excellent service.
  9. Work with a sense of urgency and efficiency to keep lines moving and minimize wait times for customers.
  10. Actively seek out opportunities to enhance the customer experience and offer suggestions for improvement.
  11. Attend training sessions and stay updated on product knowledge to better assist customers.
  12. Handle confidential information and maintain customer privacy at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: A Service Counter Associate Must Have The Ability To Provide Friendly, Efficient And Professional Customer Service To All Customers, Including Handling Complaints And Resolving Issues.

  • Cash Handling Experience: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience Handling Cash Transactions, Including Counting And Balancing A Cash Drawer, As Well As Experience With Credit/Debit Card Transactions.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: As A Service Counter Associate, One Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Work Well With Others. This Includes Working With Customers, Fellow Associates, And Management.

  • Organizational Skills: A Service Counter Associate Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks At Once And Maintain A High Level Of Organization To Ensure The Smooth And Efficient Operation Of The Service Counter.

  • Knowledge Of Store Policies And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Kroger's Policies And Procedures, Including Return And Exchange Policies, To Assist Customers And Answer Any Questions They May Have. Familiarity With The Store Layout And Product Offerings Is Also Beneficial.
