Leadership Experience: The Customer Service/Dept Manager On Deck Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Customer Service Associates. Therefore, They Should Have Previous Experience In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role, Preferably In A Retail Or Customer Service Setting.
Knowledge Of Store Operations: It Is Important For A Candidate To Have A Good Understanding Of Store Operations, Including Inventory Management, Merchandising, And Cash Handling Procedures. This Knowledge Will Help Them Effectively Manage The Customer Service Department And Ensure Smooth Operations.
Problem-Solving And Decision-Making Abilities: As The First Point Of Contact For Customers, The Customer Service/Dept Manager On Deck Should Be Able To Think On Their Feet And Make Quick And Effective Decisions To Resolve Any Issues That May Arise. They Should Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Address Any Challenges That May Arise Within The Department.
Flexibility And Adaptability: Working In A Retail Environment Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Adapt To Changing Situations And Work Well Under Pressure. They Should Also Be Willing To Work Flexible Hours, Including Evenings And Weekends, To Ensure Proper Coverage Of The Customer Service Department.
