- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the Software/SaaS category to drive cost savings and value creation for clients.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential vendors and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and clients to ensure alignment and successful execution of sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and finance, to evaluate and mitigate risks associated with software and SaaS procurement.
- Monitor and assess market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the organization.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFP development, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain category-specific policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues and risks related to the software/SaaS category.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track category performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Act as a subject matter expert on software and SaaS procurement for internal stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends to continuously improve sourcing strategies and processes.
- Manage and mentor junior category management team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on category performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Strong Knowledge Of Software And Saas Procurement: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Software And Saas Market, Including The Latest Trends, Pricing Models, And Licensing Agreements. They Should Also Have Experience Negotiating And Managing Contracts With Software Vendors.
Strategic Thinking And Planning Skills: As A Strategic Sourcing Category Manager, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Developing And Executing Sourcing Strategies That Align With Kpmg's Business Objectives. This Requires Strong Analytical Skills, The Ability To Think Critically And Creatively, And A Strategic Mindset.
Procurement Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Procurement, With A Focus On Software And Saas Categories. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Sourcing And Managing Contracts For Large Organizations.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills: As The Primary Interface Between Kpmg And Software Vendors, The Category Manager Must Have Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills. This Includes The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Vendors, As Well As Effectively Communicate With Internal Stakeholders.
Project Management Skills: This Role Involves Managing Complex Sourcing Projects, From Identifying Business Requirements To Contract Negotiations And Implementation. The Candidate Should Have Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage Timelines, And Drive Results.
